Biosketch: Lokendra Thakkar is presently General Manager at the MP CDM Agency and State Coordinator, GoMP State Climate Change Division at EPCO. He led the team at Climate Change division to prepare the State Climate Change Action Plan( SAPCC) for the State of MP He is area of interest are Policy related issues to Climate Change, Natural Resources Management specially on Water and Biodiversity conservation. As Member Coordinator of State level Technical Core Group, he prepared State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan. He was associated with monitoring of environmental framework of World bank financed project on Poverty Alleviation in Madhya Pradesh. Prior to this assignment he worked for more than three years as Manager, Information Resource and Public Awareness at the Disaster Management Institute, Bhopal (M.P.) India, where he was involved in preparing the model District Emergency Management Plan of Khandwa, an earthquake prone district of M.P. He also had a stint with Union Minister for Rural Development/Chemicals and Fertilizers Government of India as his Additional Private Secretary. A broadcaster and communicator by aptitude Mr. Thakkar has been actively associated with broadcasting for more than twenty years and has produced various features and documentaries of national and international importance on environmental and developmental issues and has anchored live shows on scientific and environmental issues on radio and televisions. He has M.Phil in Natural Resource Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, India. He did postgraduate in Chemistry after doing Bachelors in Science. He also has Bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Biosketch: Madhu Verma has a Masters in Economics with specialization in Regional Planning and Economic Growth and PhD in Industrial Economics. Basically an Environmental Economist, she has done her post Doctoral research at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and University of California (Berkeley),USA. She has been an academician and an economist for over 23 years. Currently she is Professor, Faculty of Forest Resource Economic & Management, IIFM, Bhopal.

Biosketch: Sandeep is among the most inspiring young social entrepreneur of India. He has represented India and the cause of youth leadership at various international platforms like G.S.V.C and DBS-NUS Singapore. He is providing SoCHE with expertise in community engagement across social upliftment projects. He is also the founder director of “Bharat Calling” initiative in Itarsi (MP) and the co-founder and director of “Vikalp”- helping people to make informed career choices. His expertise includes, community mobilization, project designing, stakeholder engagement, leadership workshop, business planning. He is a recipent of various fellowships such as M.S.D.S., LEAD, Changelooms, Plustrust, TISS-DBS among others; and has been featured as most inspirational youths across India at various platforms including Kaun Banega Crorepati, Power of Inspiration Tehelka, Down to Earth etc. He has recently been felicitated with Manava Sewa samwardhini award for excellence in social work.

Biosketch: I am also a PhD student at the School of Habitat Studies, Tata Institute of Social Science Mumbai and working on my research, which is focused on "Urban poverty and Vulnerability in Indian Cities". As a development professional,I have more than ten years of progressive work experience, specializing in climate change, Urban Development, Urban Water and Waste Management, Watershed Management, Women Empowerment, Livelihood Security, Economic Justice, Democracy and Adolescent Education etc. On the academic front, I did my MA in Development Studies from Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex, UK. I did my first Masters in Social work (MSW) from the Indore School of Social work, Indore M.P. India. I am a freelance social development consultant working with many NGOs and Government departments. My core area is climate change adaptation and empowerment of urban local bodies and Panchayats in India. So far, my work has been focused on both the urban and rural settings. I am also a published poet, writerand translator, my articles, poems and Ghazals have been published in some leading dailies and online magazines like Janasatta, DainikBhaskar(National Hindi Daily), Samayantar (National Hindi literature Monthly), Janajwar.com (E magazine), Apnimati.com (Hindi Literature E magazine) and some of my articles are published in Marathi dailies in Mumbai as well.
