LEAD India in consultation with Department of Science and Technologies, Government of Himachal Pradesh, organized a Himalayan Chief Ministers Conclave on Indian Himalayas : Glaciers, Climate Change and Livelihoods.
It brought together Chief Ministers from five Himalayan States- Jammu & Kashmit, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Aruanachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh – to discuss vital issues of environmental degradation, Climate Change and impact on local livelihoods in the Himalayan region. This Conclave aimed to focus attention on issues specific to Himalayan States, especially the retreat of Himalayan Glaicers and its impacts on the society especially the retreat of Himalayan Glaciers and its impacts on the society and livelihoods.
