Mr. Sarmah is the Executive Director at North Eastern Electric Power Corporation, a public sector undertaking under Ministry of Power, Govt of India. Mr Sarmah has vast experience in planning, execution, testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance of Hydro Power Stations; and planning and execution of Gas based thermal Power plants. He is presently engaged in planning of various Thermal and Renewable Energy Projects and heading the transmission wing of the corporation.
Mr. Sarmah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Assam Engineering College of Guwahati University and has completed introductory courses in chartered financial analysis. He holds a certificate of IPMA and a Fellow of Institute of Engineer. He has attended various training programs in hydro power development.
Mr. Sarmah is most interested in water resource development and management, Renewable Energy, project management and energy within the domain of development and environment.
