Rahul Chandawarkar

Rahul is Journalist and PR Consultant in Goa. He has been a Resident Editor at Sakal Times based in Pune, India. Until recently, he was an Assistant Editor with the Daily News and Analysis (DNA) newspaper in Pune.

Rahul was recently awarded the Ramnath Goenka excellence in journalism award for environmental reporting by the Vice President of India, Hamid Ansari in New Delhi on January 16, 2012. The Goenka awards which are considered the foremost awards in the field of Indian journalism are given to 36 journalists across India every year. Rahul received the Goenka award for running multiple campaigns on the eco-degradation of the hill stations of Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani near Pune in the DNA newspaper’s Pune edition.

Rahul – an MBA by training – has been writing for newspapers and magazines since the age of 16. He has the added benefit of having worked in the Indian corporate world for ten-full years (1987-97).
