Dr. Anil K Agnihotri

Dr Agnihotri is an expert in sustainable waste management and energy practices. He is presently a Technical Adisor for Waste to Energy pojects to NECTAR and is a Consultant for “Technology Dissemination & Enterprise Development” in The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi where he has worked on projects related to Municipal solid waste to energy, Produced water treatment for shell gas production, Microbial induced corrosion for gas pipelines in India. He has previously served as General Manager – Corporate Health Safety & Environment (CHSE) at ONGC and has worked with the organisation for more than 20 years. In his engagement with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, he served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and looked after energy development and waste to energy projects.

Dr. Anil completed his graduation in Law frfom the University of Lucknow. He attained advanced training in Microbiology from Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow. He completed his Masters in Science and PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Lucknow. He is a Member of Mission Advisory Committee (MAC) of National Mission on Bamboo Application, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He is also a recipient of National Petroleum Management Programme Award for Excellence, Creativity & Innovation-Team Category (Non R&D) for the year 2003 – 04 awarded by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India.

In his career of more than 33 years, Dr. Agnihotri has written, published and presented several academic papers and has participated in various national and international conferenes. His professional interests are Energy recovery from municipal and industrial wastes, microbial degradation of petroleum and effluent disposal / pollution control, Microbial Induced Corrosion (MIC) and Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR)
