Ankita Sharma is a young Sustainability Leader and a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum, carrying rich and diverse experience of anchoring Sustainability practices across various sectors for reputed global organizations. She is currently driving “Post-Consumer Plastic Recycling” project in Marico Limited to promote circular economy and “No Printout Day” to bring a conscious change in the printing behavior. She is also facilitating Bombay Chamber of Commerce (BCC) in developing a Supplier Sustainability Toolkit for Small & Medium Scale Enterprises. She extends her experience and knowledge in laying down Sustainability Policy and Framework, auditing firms on environment and social parameters, developing community impact programs under CSR Act and forming a solid foundation of sustainability communication channel internally and externally. Her work has made impact in remote rural areas of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Coimbatore and Himachal Pradesh.
She is B.E. in Computer Science with MBA in Business Sustainability from TERI (The Energy Research Institute) University, followed by an advanced course in Social and Environmental Business Management from World Bank Institute. She is also a certified Auditor of OHSAS and certified for GRI G3.1, G4 and Integrated Reporting by KPMG. She also founded “GIRL RIDERS”- a community for promoting women empowerment. Today, around 70 young girls are the part of this community. As a member of World Youth Alliance and Global Shaper community by Word Economic Forum, she undertakes volunteer initiatives in schools and community. She has organized tree plantation drives, clean up drives, sustainability exhibitions and actively speaks on various sustainable issues at different platforms.
