Bharti A. Bhavsar is a senior coordinator and development worker at the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) in Ahmedabad. She is actively engaged in the social and economic betterment of rural communities, helping with mobilization, organization and training of rural women in the conservation and reclamation of natural resources such as soil, water and forest, climate change, economic crises. In addition, she is trustee of Ansooya Trust (SEWA) She is a core group member of SAATH, She was a core group member in Capnet India, She was a Coordinator, North India Women Water Network 2002 to 2004. She was a GWP-South Asia Regional Committee Member 2004 to 2006.
Presently she is running Sewa’s Millennium Campaign “Women, Water & Work”. She helps to formulate and implement various development programs and activities in Gujarat that focus on empowering and strengthening rural women through their own local organizations.
She has completed post-graduate studies in commerce and has a law degree from Gujarat University in India.
