Dr. Lalbiakmawia Ngente is an Architect and a Management Graduate by profession. A devoted and articulate Leader, he is a recipient of National Merit Scholarship, Vikas Ratna Award. After serving the Government of Mizoram for a short stint in 1987, he started his own Consultancy firm viz. M/s L.B Associates (Architecture and Construction Consultants). As an architect, he was member of the National Task Force on Housing, initiated by the Government of India during 1994-1997.
Dr Ngente has been involved in different NGO’s, Student Unions, Educational Institutions and Government Bodies in different capacities. Some of which includes General Secretary of Central Young Mizo Association, the first Secretary of Mizoram People Forum and President Youth Hostel Association of India Mizoram State Branch, etc.
He was actively involved in the climate change programme initiated by the LEAD India and British High Commission for NE India. He also attended the Haggai Institute’s International Advanced Leadership training Programme at Maui, Hawaii, USA during May, 2015 and is presently the member of the Haggai Institute-India Society. He has successfully undergone the Faculty Initiation Seminar (FIS), Aizawl during September, 2015. He is also currently serving as Executive member of the YHAI National Council member, as well as the Environment Protection Committee. He is the founder President of MSDF as well as the Governing Council member and Councillor of Integrated Mountain Initiatives (IMI), which aims to mainstream the concept of sustainable mountain development into the administrative planning framework of IHR.
