Ms. Sahoo is the Educational Programme Coordinator of Gram Vikas, a grassroots NGO whose mission is to empower various impoverished and underdeveloped rural communities in the Orissa region by teaching them about sustainable development. The education program with which she is directly involved by organizing, planning and managing, aims to develop and expand an education base, both formally and informally, in remote rural areas.
Ms. Sahoo holds a Master’s degree in Oriya Literature and a Bachelor’s degree in Oriya Language, both from Angul College of Utkal University. She is originally from rural Orissa and it was there that she first fostered her ardent enthusiasm for community development and tribal issues.
