Pallava Bagla is an Indian science journalist, communicator & photojournalist for over 25 years and a well-known face on Indian television, showcasing Indian science & technology to the world.
In his almost two decades of continuous writing for Science, the prestigious weekly magazine of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Washington D.C., he critically analyzed India’s prowess in S&T. He runs a weekly column on science, technology, health and environment for Press Trust of India (PTI). His daily photo blog titled `Enjoy Nature on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram is commendable.
He is the Science Editor for NDTV since 2006. His work show casing India’s maiden mission to Mars – Mangalyaan in 2013 and earlier his decisive work on India’s first mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-1 in 2008 has been applauded, broadcasting both in English and Hindi. His reporting on India’s nuclear issues from locations forever hidden from cameras because of national security has been highly acclaimed. His recent work includes giving an insider’s look into India’s missile development program.
Simplifying complex science for the lay people is his forte. He is the immediate past President of the International Science Writers Association (ISWA) from 2015 & 2016 the world’s oldest international body representing international science writers from over 25 countries.
An elected member of the Executive Board of the World Federation of Science Journalists, headquartered in Canada where he served a four year term from 2011-2015.
