Mr. Pankaj Satija is working for Tata Steel Ltd as General Manager(Ore, Mines and Quarries) for Raw Material Division of Tata Steel Ltd. He has more than 22 years of experience in Strategic Planning, Project Management, Mine Planning, Mining Operations, Production and Maintenance. He has been in task force for Sustainable Development Framework for Indian Mining Industry constituted by Ministry of Mines. Under his leadership, Sukinda chromite mine of Tata Steel became the first mine in the country where pilot launch of SDF (Sustainable Development Framework) was done in Jan 2016. At present, two mines of his division namely Noamundi and Joda are five star rated mine as per SDF. Under his leadership, Noamundi became the first mine in country where pilot launch for Drone Application in Mine Monitoring (DAMM) was launched in Jan 2017.
He is the recipient of FIMI Gem Granite Sustainability Award 2014-15 and Excellent Performer Award 2015 from Legasis. He is a member of QP and NOS committee of Skill Council of Mineral Sector and Chairman of Barajamda Chapter of “Mining Engineer’s Association of India (MEAI). He has been associated with professional bodies and has numerous papers in National and International Journals to his credit.
