Rajiv Bhartari is an officer of the Indian Forest Service and belongs to the Uttarakhand Cadre. He is presently undergoing PhD at University of Montana. Before proceeding study leave he was working as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Environment, Government of Uttarakhand. He also worked as Chief Conservator of Forests Ecotourism at Dehradun, where he is looking after policy, projects, teaching and research in ecotourism.Formerly, he served as the Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve and as the Divisional Forest Officer of the Social Forestry Division in the Bulandshahar District. He is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas.
His Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in botany are from Delhi University. In addition, he has received training in wildlife management at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
