Mr. Raju Ghimire is working for a Child Rights based NGO Voice of Children (VOC) –Nepal as a Technical Advisor since 2010, and has been a social worker since 2000. He is responsible for the overall management of the program activities, capacity building of staff members in the organization and coordination with government authorities and donor agencies. He has 20 years of experience working with street and vulnerable children, their families and communities for sustainable reintegration.
He completed his Master’s degree in Sociology, Post Graduate in Counselling Psychology and BA in Education from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. He has done research on ‘Socio-economic status of street children after their reintegration in the family/community through vocational training’ in 2009 and ‘Foster family care of the street children in Nepal’ in 2012. He has edited many books and newsletters published from the organizations.
He has taken various national and international level trainings and workshops on Child Rights, Child Psychology, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Proposal writing, human resource management, etc. He has facilitated many workshops and trainings as a Resource Person on child rights and protection, counselling and facilitation skills, case management, reintegration approach of street children, child and family psychology, etc across countries
VOC’s working methodology with street children has been endorsed by Government of Nepal as a ‘Street children rescue, rehabilitation and management Guideline’ and Mr. Ghimire is facilitating the government partners for its implementation.
