Sanjay is a Ph D student at the School of Habitat Studies, Tata Institute of Social Science Mumbai and working on my research, which is focused on Urban poverty and Vulnerability in Indian Cities. As a development professional, He has more than ten years of progressive work experience, specializing in climate change, Urban Development, Urban Water and Waste Management, Watershed Management, Women Empowerment, Livelihood Security, Economic Justice, Democracy and Adolescent Education etc. On the academic front,
He did his Masters in Development Studies from Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex, UK, and did Masters in Social work (MSW) from the Indore School of Social work, Indore M.P. India.
Presently, he is a freelance social development consultant working with many NGOs and Government departments. My core area is climate change adaptation and empowerment of urban local bodies and Panchayats in India. So far, my work has been focused on both the urban and rural settings.
Sanjay is also a published poet, writer and translator, his articles, poems and Ghazals have been published in some leading dailies and online magazines like Janasatta, DainikBhaskar (National Hindi Daily), Samayantar (National Hindi literature Monthly), Janajwar.com (E magazine), Apnimati.com (Hindi Literature E magazine) and some of his articles are published in Marathi dailies in Mumbai as well.
