Prof. Usha P. Raghupathi is an urban planner with over 33 years of professional experience in the urban sector.
She has a Masters degree in Geography from Delhi University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Planning from the School of Planning, CEPT, Ahmedabad. She has done short-term courses at the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies (Netherlands), Life Academy (Sweden), and USAID sponsored courses in U.S.A.
She has conducted research on urban services (particularly water supply, sanitation and solid waste management), urban poverty, public-private partnerships in urban services, urban environment, amongst others.
She is currently working on urban climate change and urban green growth issues. She has been involved in appraisal/evaluation of Government of India programs such as JNNURM and AUWSP. She has conducted training programs for municipal officials and is involved in capacity building efforts on urban climate change.
Prof. Usha has also been a member of the Board of Directors of LEAD India. She is an Associate member of Institute of Town Planners, India. Prof. Usha has written many research reports and published papers (national and international) on subjects related to urban affairs.
