Waseem Iqbal is a founder member of AAS NGO working in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Presently he works as a secretary and is responsible for the overall implementation of various projects of the organization. He has more than 12 years of experience in development sector especially in urban slums on various slum improvement projects i.e. MPUIIP, MPUSP Project (UTTHAN), Slum environment and sanitation Initiatives (SESI), Project UDAY in Indore Madhya Pradesh, He has also worked for the development of city sanitation plan for Nanded, Maharashtra. During his entire tenure he has worked for water, sanitation, violence against women, child rights conservation etc. on academic front, he has a Post Graduate degree in social science (MSW) with a specialization in Medical and psychiatric social works.
Some of the notable accomplishments – developed a module for addressing child sexual abuse named “Surakshit Bachpan†which has been inaugurated by women and child development minister of Madhya Pradesh on 06-05-2016. This module is utilized by more than 50 NGOs in India and the module has benefited about 100000 children. His organization AAS has been awarded as best NGO in Indore in the year 2013 and 2017. He also actively planned and participated in various rescue operations of children in need, care and protection and about 800 children have been rescued and rehabilitated.
